Student opportunities and activities

At Mount Ousley Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights

Multicultural public speaking

Students develop their research and writing skills in response to a topic that impacts multiculturalism in Australia. They compete at the school, regional and state level competitions.

Creative and performing arts

Students engage in a wide range of creative pursuits throughout the year. These include;

  • Keirabald - a visual art competition run by Keira High School
  • Southern Stars - a large group of students join the stage production held at WIN stadium to showcase their dancing prowess.
  • Choir - Our students perform in eisteddfods, at assemblies and entertain residents at age care facilities.

Excursions and Incursions

Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them connect their learning to the world outside of the classroom. They provide opportunities for students to challenge themselves and try activities that they may not have otherwise tried.

Our Stage 3 camp sees our students step outside of their comfort zone, try new physical activities and develop independence.

Strong Dads Strong Kids

Our Strong Dads Strong Kids afternoons are designed to connect fathers and father figures to school life inside the school gates. These afternoons of fun range from sporting and STEM activities to games evenings and even paper aeroplane building.
