Our Facilities
Support for every family Our facilities Our students have the privilege of enjoying wide, open playgrounds for sport and play. Our spacious, fully enclosed school grounds offer students room to run, play, use their imagination, and challenge themselves through climbing, balancing, and swinging. The trampoline is a unique addition to our playground and is very popular among students of all ages. The new basketball court and central quad, with painted games, provide students with a variety of activities to participate in during playtimes. For students who enjoy imaginative play, we have a dedicated space with dress-ups, blocks, a chalkboard, and books available for them to use. Our Outdoor Learning Area (OLA) is a dynamic space that offers children the opportunity to learn while exploring the natural environment. It is also a space students enjoy playing in. The sandpit and boats encourage many imaginative games.
The learning environments are well maintained and uniquely arranged. Our school is a large horseshoe shape, with all classrooms and offices located on one level. Teachers and students use furniture flexibly to meet the requirements of each lesson and the needs of individual learners in each classroom. Our beautiful library is a calm space where students can explore the books they love while also engaging in high-quality literacy lessons provided by our skilled librarian and published author, Mrs Hamers.
Resources and technology
Our school uses modern technology and digital learning tools. We are a 1:1 device school with all of our students bringing an iPad or Mac laptop with them each day. We can provide devices to students who do not have one of these devices at home. Students are explicitly taught how to be responsible online citizens and how to use technology to enhance and share their learning and provide feedback to others. Our resources help students learn, create and stay connected.
Mount Ousley Public School has been recognised at the 2026 Public Education Awards for our outstanding teaching and learning that incorporates the meaningful and integrated use of technology. You can view the entry here. It is important to point out that this entry was a direct result of student led learning, research, writing, art, and technology. Check it out for yourself.
